I’m finding
it surprisingly easy to fill all the pockets, and am using Marcy Penner’s
wonderful planners to help organise my thoughts. I basically print the weekly planner of every
Monday, and just jot things down as l think of it. If l get to the middle of the week, and
there’s nothing really inspiring recorded – a quick look at Becky Higgins’
everyday photo ideas
gives me plenty of ideas.
I’m waiting,
very patiently, for my January Studio Calico
Project Life kit to arrive. Really l
can’t wait for the kit to arrive, and was stalking our post office box late
this afternoon. From the looks of it, it
is going to be AMAZING value. For
someone living in regional Australia, where access to the latest products is
very difficult – l am sure the monthly kit is going to be just what l
need.
Some ideas l
thought l would share from this week’s layout.
1. Use a
week in review card. These are so popular, and for those of you who use
Photoshop Cathy Zielske has a great
version. It allows you to get the whole
week down on paper, which frees up the rest of your layout.
2. Capture
your child’s sayings. This is one of
the main things l want to do with my Project Life album. I hope to include something every week as
these little snippets are just priceless and something l know we will treasure
for years to come.
3. Give the
camera to your child. Ok, so we were
nervous giving a four year old my new camera - but l am glad we did. This week l included a photo that Bella took
when she was playing with her cousin Gretel.
The angle at which she took the photo, and what she managed to capture
in the frame is fantastic.
4. Including
memorabilia. Most people who park at
the hospital just throw these little parking tickets away. In years to come l know that these little
tickets will bring back a flood of memories.
Till next week ……

Have you heard about Project Life? It’s a back-to-basics approach to memory
keeping that l am using this year to record our 2013.
Today l am hooking up with others doing Project Life on The Mom Creative for Project Life Tuesday.

What a great idea, giving the camera to your daughter! Your pages turned out great!
ReplyDeleteThanks Fiona, your kind words mean a lot to me.
DeleteI love your week 3! Reminds me of my title page 2013 :)
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to your next weeks,
Kind regards from Germany,
Alex
Wow - Germany !
DeleteWelcome Alex and thanks for your kind words.
I love how my blog allows me to connect with people from all around the world.
Still working on my title page, just waiting for my Studio Calico kit to arrive.
Your pages look wonderful! I love giving my kids the camera. I wanted a point and shoot to keep in my diaper bag when my eldest was still very little and realized that with a little one it needed to be durable. We got an Olympus Tough and I'm so glad we did. It takes a beating sometimes, but it can take it and I'm never afraid to hand over the camera.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting again Cerise. :)
DeleteGreat advice about a child friendly camera too. We'll have to look into something like that because l definitely want to give Bella the opportunity to take more photos.
Truth be told, i probably need to buy a durable camera for myself. I have a nasty habit of dropping them !
Those are great ideas Chrisy! Love recording kids' sayings - utterly precious!
ReplyDeleteI really like how you tie the colour scheme together with your spreads.
